Meet the Staff
High School Social Worker / Suicide prevention trainer / Mental Health Counselor
Born to a Dominican mother and raised in the Bronx, I have spent my career helping young adults navigate difficulties that come along with living in a large and chaotic city like New York. As an alumni of New York City public school, it has always been my goal to give back to my community. I have an AA in Human Services from Bronx Community College and a BA and MA in Social Work from Lehman College.
My education is what has allowed me to serve my community in so many capacities. I have worn many hats, all in the hope that in service, I make my community a better place. In 2006, I began my work with children and families experiencing trauma as they navigated the foster care system. I later became a master suicide prevention trainer, which allowed me to train families from NYC to Leon, Mexico, on strategies to help keep our loved ones who struggle with thoughts of suicide. Throughout my career, I have provided educational advocacy for families to ensure that mental health challenges do not prevent children from achieving educational goals. I am currently the School Social Worker at Unity, and it is an honor to help build a supportive environment for our children. I am here to provide support not just to individual students but to the whole student body.
